When a college student dissappears along the road, her friends quickly form a search party to find the lost woman. Unfortunately, these college slackers are in way over their heads.

The film centers around Shuya Nanahara (Tatsuya Fujiwara), a charismatic young boy living in Kanagawa Prefecture. After his mother abandons him and his father commits suicide, he becomes disillusioned with life. The rest of his classmates are similarly disillusioned, and have little respect for authority. Shuya's best friend, Yoshitoki "Nobu" Kuninobu (Yukihiro Kotani), attacks their teacher Kitano (Takeshi Kitano), but runs away before he can be identified. Noriko Nakagawa (Aki Maeda), a sweet, reserved young girl who happens to witness the incident, hides the knife that Nobu has just attacked Kitano with. Kitano, frustrated, resigns. This story revolves around a family that moves into a new bungalow. Soon the family members experience weird things happening in the house. The little girl Nimmi claims the presence of an invisible figure named Shabbu thus putting her parents in trouble. Pooja (the sister of Nimmi's father) surprises the family by a sudden visit, and after analyzing the situation that Nimmi is suffering from, she places wireless cameras all over the house to record the activities of Nimmi. With the passage of time, Laxman (the servant) and Taman (the brother of Nimmi) are brutally murdered. Lastly, the possessed girl Nimmi is burned down and the family flee, bloody and injured.
