Britta, the new kid at Highland High, has reason to rejoice this Christmas: her sadness has summond Holly Boy, the very spirit of the season, awakening him from the stony sleep imposed by the dark elf, King Otto. This sets in motion an earthly as well as unearthly fight which rages simultaneously: Young Britta must face her fears and perform a death-defying aerial act in the school's Christmas Pageant, while Holly Boy battles the forces of evil, both battles fought in order to save the school and the Holly Woods. In the end, it's not just a fight for a scholarship award or the woods by the school, it's a fight for Christmas and all the Good Will and Glat Tidings that the season stands for.

One deep, dark night in medieval Japan, a pair of horribly wounded warriors bangs at the door of an eerie, seemingly abandoned fortress hidden high in the mountains. An alluring young woman allows them in, and they promptly fall unconscious to the floor. Later, the younger samurai awakes to find his wounds inexplicably healed and his companion gone. Before him is the master of the fortress, an elegant yet reclusive stranger with a mysterious air. Over drinks collected from far-flung nations, his host tells him the legend of the Long-Nosed Demon, a monster that has long terrorized the countryside in its insatiable hunger for human flesh. The young samurai gradually realizes that he may be the prey of a diabolical trap, and that his gracious host may in fact be the very demon he describes, seeking a strong, young soul to replace him and carry on his evil deeds. A confrontation between man and monster, both physical and psychological, is soon afoot.

The movie is based on a children's series by the same name. Meg and Charles Wallace are aided by Calvin and 3 interesting women, Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit, and Mrs. Who in the search for their father who disappeared during an experiment he was working on for the government. Their travels take them around the universe to a place unlike any other. They must learn to trust each other and to understand that everyone is different.
