"Heidi 4 Paws" is a live-action re-telling of Johanna Spyri's 1880 children's classic, "HEIDI", but with fully mouth-articulated dogs in all of the roles. "Heidi 4 PAWS" tells the story of the young orphan (this time as seen through the eyes of a yellow lab puppy) who is sent to live with her reclusive Grandfather (in this case an old sheepdog). Just as Heidi adjusts to her new life in the mountains, she is taken away by her social worker (a scrappy beagle). Heidi finds herself living in the big city with Clara Sesehound (a cockapoo mix), who has been made an invalid after a debilitating illness. Although Heidi comes to love Clara, her quest to return to the mountains dominates her stay. In the end, she is able to reunite with her beloved Grandfather. When Clara later comes to visit, the final miracle of Heidi's story is revealed when Clara regains her ability to walk.

Kanai Yuriko (Matsushima Nao) is the daughter of a company executive and full-time housewife who had taken great pains to bring her up. Although she has always dreamt of marriage, she has led a sheltered life and is not able to do any housework. Yuriko marries Kyoichi (Inohara Yoshihiko), the eldest of four brothers (Nakamaru Yuichi, Kaname Jun, Morinaga Yuki), and the two of them should have lived their newlywed life on their own … … or so she had thought. However, the disappearance of her husband’s mother (Kotegawa Yuko) results in her settling down in a household of men. She cannot get used to the family which has a different set of values and background, but her love for the family grows as she lives together with them, and she becomes an integral part of the family. Matsushita will play the lead role of ‘Kanai Yuriko’, the daughter of a corporate executive and full-time housewife. Although she exceeds in her studies and work, she is incapable of doing any type of housework. ‘Yuriko’ falls in love with the eldest son of the Hayami family, and gets married thinking they can enjoy a newlywed life on their own. However, her husband’s family is poor, and his mother has disappeared, which forces her to face adversity as she settles in with her husband’s father and brothers.

Aiko Uzaki (Satomi ISHIHARA) is a "daddy's girl" who was raised by her father as her mother died when she was one. Her father, Kentaro (Saburo TOKITO) has set up some strict rules and controlled his daughter's life literally 24-7. Now that she's 20 years old and has started working for a fashionable clothing company, it's only natural that she expects some freedom, but that's not what her father thinks. When she falls in love with a nice young man, Seiji MIURA (Junnosuke TAGUCHI), even her strict father reluctantly accepts the fact that his daughter has her own life, but then, they have to overcome some difficulties. This is a heartwarming comedy about an outrageous yet strong bond between a father and a daughter who try to find out the true meaning of happiness through lots of laughter and tears.
