A teenager uses her quick wit and humor to persuade an unemployed father from killing himself.

Tough ex-con Glenn Barnes gets paroled from prison after serving a sentence for manslaughter. Glenn plans to reopen his old nightclub the Garage on 42nd Street. Vicious rival nightclub owner Farrell threatens to take drastic measures if Glenn goes through with his plan. After all the employees get massacred by Farrell's flunkies on opening night, Glenn reverts back to his brutish criminal ways to exact a harsh revenge on Farrell and his men.

Marie Jones and Le Ann Dunley are sisters that leaned on one another through their life challenges. Marie, is married and Le Anne is a single mother. Marie and husband Walter, raise a seventeen year old daughter named Elizabeth, who has a picture perfect life with a seemingly equally wonderful boyfriend named, Mark. Le Ann raises her sixteen year old daughter named Kelli and finds it tough to relate to the pressures her daughter is facing with boys, friends, and school. Meanwhile, Mark and Elizabeth are getting along well, and starting to have a perfect life. The relationship turns stormy however, Mark was dominating her such as calling her continuously and, not allowing her to talk to other men. One night, she was hospitalized, but denies that Mark has put her there. Kelli however, begins to get suspicious about the bruises that Elizabeth had sustained. Elizabeth's parents, try to intervene in the relationship but, it didn't do any good. Finally, Elizabeth cannot take the abuse anymore so, she decided to end the relationship. Days later, she recieved a violent text from him and, files a restraining order against him. If Mark violates, the school will contact the police and, he'll be arrested. Can Elizabeth, stand up for herself before it's too late?

An up-tight lawyer, Lenny Rubins, (Timothy Spall), has to put his dream retirement on hold when his ailing mother (Honor Blackman) emotionally blackmails him into reuniting his estranged children for a Jewish holiday. They may be peas from the same pod, but in Lenny's eyes, his grown-up children are certainly not even from the same planet: a ruthless control-freak and hard-nosed capitalist, an outspoken, argumentative eco-warrior committed to the cause, an outer-worldly Buddhist Monk; and to cap it all, a bible bashing born-again Rabbi. While they might quarrel, fight, and perhaps even be starting a war in Africa, they are still family. It is going to take a whole lot of soul-searching and sacrifice for everyone to come together in this comic drama.
