The owner of a bank (Miss Bitterman) wants to own the Muppet Theatre so she can build a nightclub over it. After she tricks Pepe into giving her the only copy of the contract between her father and the Muppets, she changes it so the Muppets have very little time to pay a debt they owe. Meanwhile, the Muppets are trying to put on a Christmas show. After the Muppets are confronted by Bitterman, they make a lot of sacrifices to save up so they can keep the Theatre.

He tells stories about Denmark and Søren, his quixotic best friend. Pelle and Veronica exchange numbers; after a fatal car crash, she decides she must go to Denmark immediately. Once there, she meets Pelle's family and Søren: her lack of Danish leads to misunderstandings. What is she doing there? Can feelings of connection migrate to others?

A condemned murderer on the eve of his execution decides to tell the authorities who hired him to commit the murder. However, he's killed by a poison dart in front of a roomful of officials and reporters before he can divulge the name. An assistant district attorney and a pretty newspaper reporter team up to discover the "mystery man" behind the murders.

A crew of young researchers escape into the future to avoid the shutdown of their project. They find that some type of 'eco-crisis' disaster has de-populated the area around their lab (in rural Idaho) and, by implication, the nation or maybe the world. Stranded in the barren future, in their travels they encounter an abandoned freight train possibly full of corpses (maybe, it isn't very clear). One of them travels further into the future and meets a family in a futuristic automobile, implying that that humankind has recovered from the disaster (or have they?)

A tramp steals a girl's handbag, but when he tries to pick Charlie's pocket loses his cigarettes and matches. He rescues a hot dog man from a thug, but takes a few with his walking stick. When the thief tries to take some of Charlie's sausages, Charlie gets the handbag. The handbag makes its way from person to person to its owner, who is angry with her boyfriend who didn't protect her in the first place. The boyfriend goes to throw himself in the lake in despair. Charlies helps him.

During the town fiesta, Baby announces that her one wish is to have a child of her own with Boy as the father. The fireman thinks that she is just kidding but Baby is dead serious since her biological clock is ticking. Will Boy keep his promise to Baby? Will this lead to a more serious relationship between the two people or will they continue to be unlucky in love?
