Hiring one young and good-looking daddy for half year duration. Room and board included. Upon the death of their most beautiful mother in the whole wide world, the rich but helpless orphan sisters are left to fend for themselves against their greedy great-aunt, who is plotting to seize their fortune and kick them out of their big, luxurious house. To counter their great-aunt's evil plot, the sisters hire a man to assume the role of their mother's newly married and sadly widowed husband. Segawa Rio, a quick-acting detective, gets transferred to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police’s Violent Crimes Division after she got shot during her previous case. She is made to work together with Nagumo Jun, a level-headed but eccentric psychology professor whoes skills at behavioral analysis are the key to tracking down the criminals. There's also Teranishi Kei, a shy young detective who's had a crush on Segawa since their days at the academy...

The story begins with the deaths of ruling party's Fukuoka legislator and his eldest son, his heir apparent, in an accident. It is decided that a by-election will be held, and Kanbayashi Masaichi, the leader of the ruling party, and secretary Miyama Rika conceive the idea of fielding the second son, Asakura Keita, who had been renounced by his father. After Keita graduated from senior high school, he went on to a university in Nagano because he wanted to live in a place with beautiful stars, and eventually became an elementary school teacher over there. Well-liked by children and satisfied with his beloved star gazing, Keita has no interest in the world of politics. However, at Rika's persuasion and the pressure of his family, he reluctantly decides to announce his candidacy. Upon returning to Fukuoka, Keita is given a hearty welcome by supporters. The election strategist, Nirasawa Katsutoshi, arrives there. He is guided by the notion "election is the only permitted legal war" and begins Keita's election campaign.

Tamaki (Maki Horikita), a young girl who lives with her motorcycle cop brother, has got a job at a travel agency after months of searching. The most important person in her department is the popular tour conductor Mikio (Hitori Gekidan), but her supervisor is the ex-flight attendant Sayori (Meisa Kuroki), whose last name happens to be Tamaki. Tamaki's first job is to hand out pocket tissues on the street, and she strikes up an acquaintance with Yajima (Gaku Hamada), another tissue peddler who works for DoCoMo. Drama develops when the two Tamakis fall victim to a mixup in cell phones.

It has been one and a half years since Aizawa Kosaku, Shiraishi Megumi, Hiyama Mihoko and Fujikawa Kazuo were assigned to Shoyo University’s North Hospital. They have only three months left of their fellowship programme (specialised training programme) to be flight doctors and each of them have come to the crossroads where they have to think of their lives after graduation. Aizawa, who has only one relative – a grandmother currently in a nursing home, starts having doubts about his duties and cannot find a clear direction for his future. Meanwhile, Shiraishi Megumi is unable to forget the past. She had caused their former teacher, Kuroda Shuji, to have his right arm amputated. Then Tachibana Keisuke, a veteran flight doctor, takes up a new post. He has been put in charge of certifying the fellowship programme which will decide their future.
