Cat Stevens: Behind The Music tracks the musical and spiritual journeys of the '70s superstar singer-songwriter, born as Steven Georgiou and now known as Yusef Islam. Steven's early pop chart successes in the late '60s were followed by a year with tuberculosis complicated by his own vague discontent, but he followed his near-death experience with rebirth as a huge international star in the '70s, with hits like "Wild World," "Lady D'Aarbanville," "Moonshadow," "Peace Train," "Morning Has Broken," "Miles from Nowhere" and many others. But another near-fatal incident, however, when Stevens almost drowned while swimming in the Pacific, changed his life forever. He answered the call to the Muslim faith, and became Yusef Islam. Back in his native London, the former idol has established a school for Islamic children, is an activist for war orphans from Bosnia, among other humanitarian efforts, and is busy recording new music.

A young man arrives at a hotel for an assignation; she calls to say she's not coming. He is Jae-hoon, she is Soo-jung; they've met through Young-soo, an independent filmmaker. Soo-jung writes for Young-soo; Jae-hoon may finance his film project. From varying points of view in two long parallel flashbacks, we see what precedes the hotel date. Details differ, and each account includes events missing from the other. Characters are quiet and self-contained, then animated; victims apologize. Each character frequently asks, "Really?" What has really happened? Is one account more accurate? Is a kiss the most enjoyable and promising human contact? Connections are tenuous and fragile.

Yu-jin hears that her twin sister Seung-jin will be coming to town from the US. In the end only her brother-in-law arrives bearing horrible news of her sister's suicide. When her brother-in-law tries to seduce her, she feels a strange physical familiarity to him. Yu-jin meets a stranger online who calls himself art lover. He alludes to the suspicious circumstances surrounding Seung-jin's death and Yu-jin finds herself discovering her sister's past.

Young Christopher has just enrolled at the prestigious Carmichael Bible College, managed by the somewhat unusual Mrs. Bouvier. After some unexplained disappearances, Christopher does some exploring and discovers that Mrs. Bouvier and the Reverend Carmichael have some very unwholesome intentions for the young men of their school. Will Christopher graduate with his body and soul intact?
