The late Bob Marley is the principal attraction of the exhilarating German-Jamaican concert feature Reggae Sunsplash. The film is a faithful documentary of the 1979 Sunsplash II Festival in Montego Bay. Sharing the bill with Marley is his off-and-on partner Peter Tosh, who like Marley was as active politically as vocally, and who, also like Marley, suffered for his outspokenness at the hands of the authorities. Third World also appears, thrilling their devotees with their imperishable hit 96 Degrees in the Shade.

In a small, US costal town with many Spanish speakers, a motorcycle gang arrives on holiday. Also in town to try to reconnect with his pregnant girlfriend, Karen, is businessman Paul Collier. Paul and a leader of the cyclists, J.J., knew each other years before, so when the gang comes upon the couple and, led by the menacing Bunny, beats up Paul and begins a sexual assault of Karen, J.J. tries to intervene: he suggests they hold cycle-riding contests, with the winner claiming Karen (he promises, sotto voce, to set her free if he wins). After the contests commence, Paul crawls away to look for help. He meets with a shrug from a cowardly sheriff's deputy; where can he turn?

Hubert Davenport - A distinguished Victorian gentleman. The Meaker's next door neighbours, Rose and Arthur Perkins, were convinced that the Meaker's were a pair of nutters and hired a private detective then tried to get a psychiatrist to convince them that they needed treatment. Harold Meaker - Originally the spooks landlord but later took over the business when Fred Mumford couldn't keep up with the rent. Ethel Meaker - Harold's wife who fancies herself as a bit of a singer.

But, why are they turning into rhinoceroses and what is Ionesco trying to tell us about society?
